One of the oldest forms of men’s clothing is probably the kilt, they have come a long way from the caveman days, but their practical application of protecting the lower body has not changed. Today’s utility kilts are becoming very common because they are so comfortable and practical. Many men are yet to discover just how comfortable they are as until recently they were considered only part of Scottish and to some extent Irish traditional dress that was reserved for formal occasions. The Scottish, English, Australian and New Zealand armies all have regiments that still have kilts as part of their official uniform’s, although solder’s have not used them in a war since the 1940’s.
Men
who wear Kilts know something others don’t
Ask any man wearing a kilt why they like
them so much and they will probably tell you the enjoy the freedom and lack of
restriction on their legs and groin area. I warmer climates they will tell you
that they are so cool, something women have enjoyed for years, plenty of
cooling fresh air and good ventilation.
The
coziness of the kilt
Because of the wary a utility kilt is made,
they are very cozy, they are normally worn from the middle of the lower
stomach, just below the navel or belly button and flow down from there. This
means there is no restriction at the hips or between the legs as is common with
most pants.
They allow for all types of unrestricted
movement and allow lots of fresh air to circulate giving much healthier
breathing room which is much more hygienic being in a pair of sweaty pants.
Consider it to be similar to wearing very
loose, light weight baggy pants and multiply that a few times and you will
begin to get the idea. Almost all types of pants, shorts or longs are
restrictive, your utility kilt will never restrict your movement.
Under
the Kilt
What you wear under the kilt is your
business; many men prefer the freedom of not wearing anything. Modesty is not
an issue as the construction of today’s utility kilt prevents them from rising
up and flapping in the breeze preserving a man’s modesty, so this is not an
issue. There are just no rules, just like what you wear under your pants, it’s
up to you. Some men like to wear cycling pants or boxers, whatever turns you on.
The
Great Outdoors
Kilts are ideal for the great outdoors; they
are perfect for running and all types of sports including trekking and
tramping, water sports and swimming, hunting and golf.
Practicality
A utility kilt is much more practical and
easier to wear than a utility belt for carrying all types of gear such as tools
or equipment. They have very deep pockets and compartments that can be adjusted
and altered as required. Hooks, loops, chains, belts and pouches can be added
where and when needed.
Today’s utility kilt is a really cool
garment for men and working women to wear, in fact they are totally unisex.
They encompass both fashion and practicality in a very stylish way. When
something has been around as long as the kilt it has to have a lot going for it
and today’s modern utility kilts really do it for the modern man who rates
comfort as a priority.
